Journalist Dean Jones believes that Ryan Sessegnon has not yet been offered a new deal at Spurs, despite improved performances in recent weeks.

Sessegnon started just two of Antonio Conte’s 10 opening fixtures, but has recently started in the last four games under the Italian boss.

This season is Sessegnon’s most featured season since he joined Spurs from Fulham, as he has played eight times in the league, beating his previous best, which was six in the 2019/20 campaign.

And a recent report in The Times suggests he has been offered a new deal by Spurs.

However, Jones told GiveMeSport that he is not aware of a new deal being offered to Sessegnon, despite his recent impressive performances under Conte.

“I don’t think they have offered him a new contract, to be honest. From what I understand, there are no active talks on this,” he said.

TIF Thoughts on Ryan Sessegnon…

Ryan Sessegnon burst onto the scene as a 16-year-old for Fulham in the 2016/17 Championship season and finished the campaign with 30 appearances and seven goals.

However, since then things haven’t quite gone to plan for him at Spurs, as he has failed to cement a place in the first-team, meaning he went out on loan last season to Bundesliga side Hoffenheim. He impressed on loan with the German side, which put in a greater shout for him to be involved more this season for Spurs.

Sessegnon has been involved in the start XI in the last three games under Conte and has impressed after he was awarded a player rating of 7.6 against Leeds last weekend, as per sofascore.

The 21-year-old’s contract is not set to expire until 2024, but if he continues to perform well for Conte, then he may be awarded a new deal before the expiry of his current contract.
