Noted transfer insider Fabrizio Romano has been discussing Liverpool target Karim Adeyemi and what his future looks like.

Adeyemi is someone that Liverpool have been linked with in recent months, with claims suggesting the club were set to talk with his current club RB Salzburg over a possible move during the January transfer window. Meanwhile, he has more recently insisted that his future beyond the summer is still undecided amid links to an Anfield switch.

The 20-year-old, who is predominantly a centre-forward but can play across the front three, has scored 19 goals so far this season in all competitions and would fit perfectly into the Jürgen Klopp ethos of trying to build a team ‘for now and tomorrow’.

However, speaking on a recent video on his YouTube channel, Romano spoke about what his future looked like with regard to his next club, and seemed to imply that it was looking very unlikely that Liverpool would be the ones to bring him on board, as he looks set to sign with another club in Europe instead.

He said: “What I know is that Borussia Dortmund have an agreement on personal terms with Karim Adeyemi, but not yet with Red Bull Salzburg. So between clubs, it’s still to be negotiated, but on the player’s side, Adeyemi is the priority to Borussia Dortmund.”

Judging by Romano’s comments, it looks as if Liverpool may be forced to look elsewhere, because it doesn’t look as if he’ll be making the move to Anfield.

As Klopp’s comments hint at, it does seem as if Liverpool are going through something of a reset right now when it comes to their personnel, with the likes of Luis Diaz coming in whilst Divock Origi looks to be heading out, also demonstrated by the increased use of the younger Diogo Jota against Roberto Firmino.

Let’s just hope that they don’t end up living to regret not making a bigger push to try and sign Adeyemi when they had the chance, because given his age, this could be something that could come back to haunt them for the next few years if he ends up being a hit at Dortmund should he move to Germany.
