Richard Keys claimed that Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is right when talking about the phrase ‘clear and obvious’ and calls for it to be removed.

Jurgen Klopp has recently called for the removal of the ‘clear and obvious’ rule after Brighton goalkeeper brutally took out Luis Diaz on Saturday, but because it was not an obvious mistake from the referee, the Spanish keeper was not punished for it.

Liverpool did go on to win the game, but Sanchez’s tackle could have caused serious damage to January signing Luis Diaz, and Klopp felt like there should have been punishment for his actions.

Richard Keys spoke on his Personal Blog and agreed with Klopp whilst saying that we should use the technology that we have available to us “properly”.

“Oh. And Klopp is right. We’ve got to remove the ridiculous ‘clear and obvious’ phrase from the game. We’ve got the technology now – so use it properly,” Keys said.

TIF Thoughts on Liverpool…

It comes as a surprise to see Richard Keys so easy in agreeing with a Liverpool boss, considering he used to share such a hatred for the club and has previously called Klopp out over comments.

Liverpool haven’t lost in their last 10 Premier League matches with their last defeat in league proceedings dating back to December against Leicester City.

January signing Luis Diaz joined the Reds from FC Porto and has given Jurgen Klopp’s side a boost, but he could have seen a spell on the sideline after he was brutally taken out by Brighton keeper Sanchez at the weekend.

Liverpool have done well to close the gap to just four points between them and Manchester City, with Klopp’s side also having a game in hand. With some important fixtures coming up, Klopp will want all of his players fully fit and raring to go.

If Diaz did get injured, then the German manager would arguably have kicked off even more than he did to the press after the tackle, as Liverpool have a crucial game tomorrow night against Arsenal who haven’t lost in their last six Premier League games.
