Leeds United’s quest for Premier League safety took another huge step forward on Friday night as the Whites secured a dramatic comeback win at Wolves.

Jonny gave the hosts the lead before a quick free kick in first half stoppage time allowed Trincao to double that lead. Leeds needed a miracle it seemed, but their prayers were answered when Raul Jimenez was sent off.

The dismissal changed the game, throwing a lifeline to the Whites who took it with both hands. Jack Harrison and Rodrigo levelled the scores just after the hour mark before Luke Ayling secured the three points for Leeds in stoppage time.

Despite there still being problems at the back, Jamie Carragher spotted some improvements, saying this on Sky Sports: “Leeds have been much stronger defensively than they were under Bielsa. In this game they haven’t given up huge chances but it looks dangerous every time.”

It wasn’t hard to improve on the Marcelo Bielsa record, he conceded 14 goals in his last three games in charge. However, it was still an improvement that had to be made if Leeds were to stand any chance of beating the drop this season.
