Journalist Beren Cross has criticised Stuart Dallas for his below-par performance for Leeds against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The Whites picked up an important three points at Molineux despite going two goals down in the first half. The Yorkshire club came back and won 3-2 thanks to a 92nd-minute winner from defender Luke Ayling.

Stuart Dallas was on the receiving end of a horror tackle in the second half but battled on for his side. Dallas has been a mainstay in the Leeds United side this season, starting in all 30 Premier League games.

However, much like his Leeds teammates, he has struggled for form at times this season, and Beren Cross highlighted his poor performance on Friday night against Wolves in his player rating piece for Leeds Live.

“Battled on through a horrible tackle and clear injury in the second half, but his actual performance was nowhere near his high standard. Persistently gave the ball away and got annihilated by Jonny down that flank, 5,” Cross said.

TIF Thoughts on Stuart Dallas…

Dallas has been the only outfield player for Leeds this season to have started in every Premier League game for his side, and a real mainstay of this Whites side for a number of seasons now under both Marcelo Bielsa and current manager Jesse Marsch.

On Friday night, as per Sofascore, as highlighted by Cross, Dallas was poor, losing possession of the ball 13 times and was dribbled past twice by a Wolves player.

The Northern Ireland international started in all 38 Premier League games last season under Bielsa and is on track to continue that record this season, but if he produces more poor performances under new boss Jesse Marsch, then the American boss may well consider taking him out of the firing line and giving him a breather.
