Journalist Conor McGilligan spotted Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzani listening into a Twitter Space on Monday night discussing Marcelo Bielsa’s style of football after his departure.

The Yorkshire club confirmed the parting of ways between themselves and the Argentine manager after their thumping on Saturday against Tottenham Hotspur.

Was it right to sack Bielsa?

Leeds have acted quickly since allowing Bielsa to go with the appointment of former RB Leipzig manager Jesse Marsch, who has signed until 2025.

Bielsa had spent longer with the Whites than any of his previous clubs during his time in management, however, recent results and the threat of relegation saw the board act decisively.

And it seemed the club’s majority owner was keen to hear the opinions of the Leeds fans as he tuned in to the Twitter Space where they spoke about the Argentine, which McGilligan spotted:

Radz listening to a @CoachesVoice seminar on Bielsa is an odd one,” said McGilligan on Twitter.

TIF Thoughts on Conor McGilligan’s comments…

It is certainly interesting to see the Leeds owner take an interest in what is being said about the 66-year-old following his departure on the weekend.

However, if he was listening to hear certain opinions on the sacking it would seem a little odd given the Argentine had already departed.

With Bielsa’s fate already decided and Marsch appointed, we feel there is not a great deal for Radrizzani to gain from listening to the fans’ thoughts, in this case.

Ultimately, the results in the final 12 games of the Premier League season will form the fans’ opinion on whether the board got their decision to make the change right.
