Leeds United suffered a good night results wise on Friday at Molineux, coming back from two goals down to secure the win. However, injuries are still a thorn in the side of whoever is sat in the dugout at Elland Road.

Jonny and Trincao gave Wolves a two goal lead before Jack Harrison and Rodrigo levelled the scores. Luke Ayling then popped up with a dramatic winner in stoppage time to give Leeds’ survival push a real boost.

Despite all the positives, Patrick Bamford being forced off injured after just 23 minutes is a disaster for Leeds. The injury clearly rocked the team who conceded quickly after.

Clinton Morrison was surprised with Jesse Marsch’s reaction to the injury when talking on BBC Radio 5 Live: “Sam Greenwood is a good young player but I do not get the substitution. Why not Joe Gelhardt? After you have scored a goal as a striker – like the late winner Gelhardt got against Norwich – you want to play the next game. Jesse Marsch will know his players better than us, but I am surprised he did not start the game, never mind that he hasn’t come on to replace Bamford.”

Joe Gelhardt certainly appears to be the backup option to Bamford and he was on hand to win the game last time out at Norwich, so Morrison’s surprise is no shock. He will have been high on confidence after scoring the winner and would’ve appeared the more likely to come on.
