Journalist Pete O’Rourke has claimed that Jesse Marsch will opt for American players in terms of recruiting new talent in the summer.

In the January transfer window, Leeds attempted to sign Brenden Aaronson from RB Salzburg but the Whites failed to get their man after two bids were turned down, with the second one reportedly being in the reign of £20 million.

Jesse Marsch’s introduction at Elland Road could be an indication of the type of players that Leeds will be recruiting in the summer, and he could be the connection that the Whites have needed to get the Aaronson deal over the line.

Pete O’Rourke spoke to GIVEMESPORT and claimed that Jesse Marsch will be keen to bring in players that “he knows” into Elland Road in the summer.

“It’s all pointing to there possibly being a lot of Americans and players that Jesse Marsch knows coming to Elland Road in the near future.”

TIF Thoughts on Brenden Aaronson and the transfer strategy claims…

Brenden Aaronson is a 21-year-old midfielder who has been excellent for Salzburg this campaign, in his last eight games in all competitions he has five goals contributions, with three assists and two goals, as per Sofascore.

The 21-year-old has recently received heaps of praise for his performances in the Champions League against Bayern Munich, and whilst speaking on CBS Sports on Paramount+, Thierry Henry said, “I like him a lot.”

With the comments from O’Rourke implying that Leeds will go down the American route, or at least players that he has worked with in the past, this could set up an exit from Elland Road for some of the current players. With a lot of the players at Leeds having a deep connection with former boss Marcelo Bielsa, some may find it difficult to play under a new manager at Elland Road and there were rumours that Kalvin Phillips would only sign a new deal if the Argentine stayed.
