Football pundit Jamie O’Hara has claimed that Harry Kane won’t leave Tottenham Hotspur this summer as the club look to back Antonio Conte.

Last summer, much of the transfer discussion around north London was with regard to the future of the England captain. Indeed, it looked at one point as though he was set to move to Manchester City.

That deal never came to pass but there is no certainty that Kane will be free from the same speculation this summer. However, while talking on TalkSPORT, O’Hara said that, in order to show full support for Conte, the club will keep Kane at the club as well as make a number of ‘big bids’ to improve the squad.

He said (0:59): “They’ve got back him [Conte]. I mean, how embarrassing would it be if – probably the best manager we’ve ever had in the Premier League – he ends up leaving at the end of the season, because we haven’t backed him.

“I think he’ll stay. I think the summer will come around, I think there’ll be big bids, you know, to get players in.

He then added: “I think Kane stays. Yeah, absolutely. I don’t think he’s leaving.”

TIF thoughts on Antonio Conte, Harry Kane and Tottenham…

Despite only taking charge of the club midway through this season, there has already been plenty of talk that the Italian could walk away from the job.

Having stepped away from the Inter Milan job last summer due to financial issues,  Spurs may well have to keep Conte happy with a number of ‘big bids’ in the summer transfer market, just as O’Hara suggests.

Will Harry Kane sign a new contract at Spurs?

One way to show ambition in the project, will be to keep star player Harry Kane on board. Recently, there has been some rumours of a new contract in the pipeline too.

If Kane was to stay, as O’Hara says he will, perhaps Daniel Levy can show Conte his ambition by handing his key forward a new deal.
