Everton: Journalist makes claim on Dominic Calvert-Lewin

|

Journalist Dean Jones has claimed that the Everton faithful will be furious if Dominic Calvert-Lewin was the leave the club in the summer.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin has had a frustrating season for the Toffees as he has seen his game time halted due to injuries, meaning he has featured just 10 times in the Premier League, whilst scoring three goals, according to Transfermarkt.

The English forward was impressive in the last campaign for Everton as he scored 16 Premier League goals in 33 appearances, which caught the attention of Arsenal, who have been keeping tabs on him since the summer. After Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang left on-loan for Barcelona in January and doesn’t look likely to return, Arsenal could do with a proven goal scorer like Calvert-Lewin.

Of course, given all the recent disruption involving Alisher Usmanov they may need to sell some players, and Dean Jones spoke to GIVEMESPORT and identified how the fans would react if their star man left in the summer.

“They won’t want to sell him, and the fans would probably be fuming if they did, but needs must. It’s a really worrying time if you’re an Everton fan,” Jones said.

TIF Thoughts on Dominic Calvert-Lewin…

The most frustrating thing is that supporters know exactly how good he can be as in the last campaign he scored a goal every two games, won over 50% of his aerial duels, and had an average of 2.5 shots per game, as per Sofascore.

Calvert-Lewin was involved in several England squads before his injury woes this season and his current market value is £40.5 million, so if a club wants to acquire his services, then Everton should be able to get a significant sum for the forward.

The Toffees currently sit one place above the drop zone, and if they do go and get relegated to the Championship, then the 25-year-old will almost definitely leave Goodison Park.
