Everton defender Ben Godfrey has provided fans with a big encouragement boost on Instagram ahead of the Premier League run-in.

The 24-year-old has been out of action for around a month now having sustained a hamstring injury back in February in the FA Cup.

However, he took to Instagram on Monday night to share an encouraging message to the fans as he looks set to make his return to the Goodison Park pitch soon.

Godfrey posted a photo of himself playing for the Toffees with the caption: “Can’t wait to be back.”

The centre-back has been seen stepping up his rehabilitation, having been integrated back into training sessions at Finch Farm with Frank Lampard’s side.

Everton’s woes continued over the weekend as they suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat against Premier League leaders Manchester City.

And it was a defensive error that saw City seal the points at Goodison Park after Michael Keane misjudged a deflected cross that Phil Foden pounced on to put City ahead.

The Toffees currently sit in 17th spot of the Premier League table, and with 14 games remaining, are in desperate need of some inspiration.

An improved performance against Pep Guardiola’s side ultimately proved fruitless as a result of some questionable defending and refereeing decisions.

But could the return of Godfrey see Everton begin their push for Premier League survival as Lampard’s side look to keep just their third league clean sheet since October?
