Allan has sent a message to referee Craig Pawson on his Instagram after he was sent off during Everton’s victory.

The Brazilian midfielder was handed his marching orders by Pawson after Stuart Atwell, the man operating VAR, advised him to go and look at the pitchside monitor and potentially upgrade the yellow card Allan received to a red, which he ended up doing.

Should Allan have been sent off?

It has now been reported though, that Everton will lodge an appeal over the decision which would see Allan’s three-game suspension removed and he would then be available to feature in their FA Cup clash this weekend.

Pawson was the man who branded the red card and ordered Allan to leave the pitch and head down the tunnel and the midfielder is still fuming over the decision having posted two images to his Instagram, one the tackle and another of him stood in the middle of the pitch with his arms outstretched.

TIF Thoughts on Allan’s red card…

It’s understandable that Allan would be angered by the fact he was handed a red card for a tackle that did very little more than just stop a swift Allan Saint-Maximin counter-attack and the Frenchman got up rather swiftly.

However, posting this onto his Instagram is not likely to help his or the club’s appeal if he is seen to be publicly calling out Pawson for sending him off as the FA are not going to be pleased with his actions.
