Tony Scott has revealed he’s worried for Everton after Frank Lampard’s pre-match press conference on the All Together Now podcast.

Everton are gearing up for what could be the most important game of their season thus far as they welcome fellow relegation rival Newcastle United to Goodison Park but with just one win in their previous 12 league matches, confidence is not likely to be high.

Will Everton beat Newcastle?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

This will be the Toffees’ second successive home game and will be hoping for a better result than on the weekend against Wolves, but if Lampard’s press conference at Finch Farm is anything to go by then that may not be the case.

Scott has claimed that Lampard’s body language has left him worried and concerned for Everton this evening.

(3:19) “His body language to me, at the press conference just brought down a level I was looking at and thinking, he’s not smiling, he’s down, his body language was poor.

“I was thinking if I was a player, and we know what these plays are like, Greg, they need an arm around the shoulder all the time, we know what they’re like and if that kind of atmosphere is around the players they’re only going to go one way.”

Which of these Serie A stars did the Toffees miss out on?

This really is a worrying sight with Lampard’s body language as at the darkest of times it’s vital for the manager to pick his players up and really give them that extra ounce of motivation to go and deliver a positive result in what is arguably one of the biggest games left in the club’s season.

The Toffees are by no means relegated and destined for the Championship if they fail to win this evening, however, with Watford now on the same amount of points as them and Everton’s games in hand decreasing dramatically, it has to be seen as a must-win against the Magpies.

Last time Everton faced Newcastle the roles were slightly reversed with the Magpies in the bottom three welcoming the Toffees to their home ground and that win, looking back on it, was what turned their season around, so Lampard will be hoping his side can reverse the fortunes this evening.
