Celtic climbed their way to the top of the Scottish Premiership table on Wednesday night with their emphatic victory over their local rivals.

The Bhoys flew out of the traps at Parkhead on Wednesday with first-half goals from Reo Hatate and Liel Abada putting them three goals ahead after 45 minutes.

Hatate stole the headlines in his first derby game with two goals and an assist in what was only his fourth game in a Celtic shirt since signing last month.

However, another player which impressed was the Croatian right-back, Josip Juranovic, with the 26-year-old helping Ange Postecoglou’s side to a clean sheet.

The Daily Record awarded the right-back with a 9/10 rating as they hailed his efforts going forward as well as locking down Ryan Kent down Rangers’ left side.

“Croatian was magnificent. Was quick onto the offensive and also had the pace to cover back against Kent at right back. An almost perfect performance,” wrote Craig Swan for the Daily Record.

The right-back completed all three of his attempted tackles throughout the 90 minutes as Rangers only managed two shots on Joe Hart’s goal all night (via WhoScored).

And since arriving in the summer, Juranovic has been a major part of Postecoglou’s side having featured in 19 of their Scottish Premiership games in which he has been able to net two goals.

Postecoglou’s side now sit top of the tree by just one point and with a trip to Motherwell on Sunday coming up, they will be hoping Juranovic can put in a similar performance as he did against Rangers on Wednesday.
