Celtic guaranteed they would remain top of the Scottish Premiership come the end of play on Sunday after demolishing a sorry Motherwell side. Liel Abada opened the scoring before a Tom Rogic brace put the Hoops 3-0 up at half time.
The second half saw Ange Postecoglou’s side add just the one goal thanks to January recruit Daizen Maeda. An easy 4-0 win was just what the doctor ordered for Celtic.

Unsurprisingly, the pundits were loving what they saw from Rogic, singling him out for individual praise.
Stephen Craigan, the former Motherwell defender gushed over the Aussie on the BBC. He went on to say: “It’s effortless from Rogic, he hasn’t even celebrated because he knows that’s what he can do. You cannot allow him to open up on his left foot. Ever. Motherwell had to regroup after the first and not concede a second. Now it’s all over.”
That was followed up by comments from BBC Sport Scotland’s Martin Dowden who hailed: “Was simply outstanding and a measure of his talent. Unstoppable and so composed.”
Rogic was certainly a stand out performer, with his first half brace taking the game out of sight of Motherwell, helping Celtic stretch their lead at the top of the table to four points with their title rivals playing later.

According to SofaScore, Rogic was the best performer in the Celtic team and of course, on the pitch as a whole. Looking at their match ratings, he received an 8.8, with only Abada managing to get into the 8s too. That shows how good he was when you consider the league leaders brushed away their opposition 4-0.
It was the perfect result for Postecoglou’s men who needed to follow up their crucial Old Firm win midweek. The title race has well and truly been flipped on its head by the Hoops.
