It was a great night all round for Spurs supporters after a comfortable 3-1 win over Brighton in the fourth round of the FA Cup.

The win means Antonio Conte still has a realistic chance of delivering silverware to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium thanks to goals from Harry Kane either side of Solly March’s own goal.

Yves Bissouma gave Brighton a tiny glimmer of hope, but Kane put that out swiftly to put the all Premier League tie to bed.

Cristian Romero finally returned from injury, with his Instagram post likely to be exactly what the Spurs fans wanted to see. Former transfer target, and the Lilywhites centre-back’s Argentina teammate, Angel Di Maria, even replied.

The Argentine defender was playing his first game of any sort since November and his return is timely for Antonio Conte.

Spurs could be without Eric Dier as the defender was absent from the FA Cup squad due to injury problems, although only a ‘precaution,’ no return time is given yet.

Romero came with a big reputation after being named the Serie A defender of the year when he signed from Atalanta for around £42 million, so he’ll be aiming to live up to that as soon as possible.

Despite being sidelined for so long, the defender put in an assured display against Brighton. He finished with a 97% pass accuracy, losing possession just twice and winning five from his seven ground duels.
