Celtic ended the week on a high, beating Dundee 3-2 at Celtic Park thanks to a hattrick from Giorgos Giakoumakis despite suffering big blows in the game.

Celtic fell behind in the first half when Daniel Mullen opened the scoring. The panic didn’t last long for Ange Postecoglou and his men as a brace from Giakoumakis ensured the hosts took a lead into the changing room at half-time.

Ryan Sweeney then hit back for the visitors on the hour mark. With time running out, Celtic needed a hero – up stepped Giakoumakis again, with four minutes remaining, completing his hattrick and ensuring his side were going to take the win.

Although the Greek star will take the headlines, Jonathon Moar made sure he praised Portuguese winger Jota for his efforts. He gave him an 8/10 for his performance, with the following justification: “Deployed on the right and was a constant menace. A quality showing from the Portuguese star who created an abundance of chances. Had a spectacular strike ruled out for offside.”

He really was a menace for Dundee, getting heavily involved in defending from the front. He attempted 12 ground duels and won nine of them.

Which season did Roy Keane join the Hoops?

Although he didn’t set up any of the goals, he did make five key passes and was always looking to get on the ball to make things happen. He made 105 touches, more than the other two starters in the front line combined, showing his importance in everything Celtic did.

The win sees the Hoops capitalise on Rangers’ mishap earlier in the day, with the gap at the top now three points in Celtic’s favour.
