Connor Ronan has impressed during his loan spell away from Wolves – and in his latest match, netted the opening goal to continue his fine season away from Molineux.

Ronan is now onto his sixth loan spell away from Wolves with his most successful one coming last season with Grasshoppers out in Switzerland, where he managed to make 30 appearances in the league.

Will Wolves qualify for Europe?

Yes!

No!

This campaign is very different, though, as he’s spending time north of the border with St. Mirren in the SPFL, and it appears that this could be just what he needed to either get a move away permanently or break into the Wolves first team, as he’s scored six times while registering four assists across all competitions.

It appears that Ronan is certainly making a name for himself with the SPFL side, having bagged three goals – two of them match-winners – across his last four league appearances for the club, with the most recent one coming last week against St. Johnstone.

Meanwhile, at the weekend, Ronan played in an attacking-midfield role in the Scottish Cup against lower-league Kelty Hearts, grabbing an assist and receiving a rating of 8.28 on the BBC’s Player Rater, which was the second-highest of players on the pitch – so fans are clearly enjoying his performances, too.

TIF Thoughts on Connor Ronan…

Despite playing as a midfielder for St. Mirren, Ronan is the club’s joint-top scorer in the league, which could be music to the ears of Wolves fans and Bruno Lage, who has seen his side score two or more goals in a game this season just seven times, having netted the third-fewest goals in the league with 21.

If Ronan can continue to feature regularly for St. Mirren, he could well force his way into the thoughts of Lage heading into next season, when he could also be an international player – with Saints manager Jim Goodwin backing his player for a Republic of Ireland call-up.
