Jarrod Bowen is part of the crop of West Ham United players who have been in fine form in this Premier League campaign, and former Hammers striker and coach Teddy Sheringham has valued him at £40m.

Sheringham has given his say on how much Bowen would cost if a club were interested in signing the English winger in the summer.

“If you wanted to sell Bowen, you would get £40 million for him,” Sheringham mentioned.

When asked about the winger’s chances of an England call-up, Sheringham also made his feelings known. He said: ” Without a doubt, I think he’s in and around it, he’s full of confidence at the moment. When you look at the players that are in and around the England squad that could be picked, not many are playing with the distinction that he is.”

TIF Thoughts on how Teddy Sheringham has valued Jarrod Bowen…

Sheringham has valued Bowen at £40million, but he could arguably be deemed as worth more than the former West Ham forward has initially stated.

Bowen has eight goals and 10 assists in 25 games this season, according to Transfermarkt. And if you look at some of his competitors in the league and how much they have been valued at, along with their stats, then it could be argued that Sheringham could have gone further.

Interestingly, former goalkeeper Paddy Kenny even claimed that Liverpool would’ve had to pay around £60 million for the attacker in January, and his value surely has only gone up since then as he’s produced three goals and one assist in the first few weeks of February alone.

Either way, Bowen is certainly in with a shout of being called up to the national squad, which could consequently have a knock-on effect on his market value, especially if he performs well on the international stage.
