Antonio Conte guided Spurs to a memorable victory over the defending Premier League champions and runaway leaders this season, Manchester City – a result that saw them complete the league double over Pep Guardiola’s side.

Harry Kane’s brace after Dejan Kulusevski’s opener was enough for the London club to battle past City who responded via Ilkay Gundogan and a late Riyad Mahrez penalty. Spurs did have the last laugh as the winning goal came even later, snatching the points at the death.

Has Emerson flopped at Spurs?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

While Kane is rightly getting the majority of the plaudits, other players who were important have been singled out, with Alasdair Gold doing a full breakdown in his match ratings.

He handed midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg an 8/10 for his efforts, justifying it with: “Wound City and their fans up constantly with his work in the middle and drawing fouls, plus making one tactical one himself. Gave the ball away a few times but he worked so hard.”

The midfielder gave away three fouls and won one himself, made three tackles and only had 48 touches – compare that to Aymeric Laporte and Ruben Dias at the back for City who had a combined 215 touches which conveys the dominance the hosts had over the ball.

Do you know Spurs' former academy players? Which former Burnley player used to play for Spurs' academy?

It shows how Hojbjerg had to do the dirty work that normally goes unrecognised, but he clearly played a key part in the win.
