Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini has sent out a message on Instagram following a difficult start to his life in north London.

The Italian shot-stopper has struggled to really provide Hugo Lloris with any real competition, with his 10 appearances all coming outside of the Premier League (via Transfermarkt).

Would you send Gollini back to Atalanta?

And claims surfaced last month suggesting the 26-year-old’s time at Spurs was under threat, with a termination of his loan on the cards as Lazio were said to be interested.

However, having remained with the north London side over January, the Italian took to Instagram to send a message out ahead of their return to action on Saturday: “Back in business! Let’s go COYS! always pushing hard!”

Gollini’s last appearance in a Spurs shirt came in their Carabao Cup semi-final second-leg clash against Chelsea in which he failed to keep a clean sheet.

And clean sheets have been hard to come by for the 26-year-old this season, with just two to his name in the 10 appearances he has made across all competitions (via Transfermarkt).

Following a two-week break from action, Spurs face Premier League opposition in the FA Cup – a competition where Gollini has featured instead of Lloris already – as Brighton & Hove Albion look for a spot in the fifth round.

With a possible opportunity to prove his worth against a top-half Premier League outfit, it will be interesting to see whether Gollini’s words on Instagram can translate to his performance on the pitch.
