Tottenham Hotspur correspondent Jack Pitt-Brooke has been discussing a potential sale of the north London club on the latest episode of The View From The Lane podcast

According to the reporter, it is more likely for significant investment to be provided by an outside source rather than a full takeover of ENIC’s shares.

And Pitt-Brooke claimed there has been a lot of interest in the past over potentially investing in the club, which would ultimately see Daniel Levy stay in his current role as chairman.

The current Tottenham owners have now been at the helm for 21 years, but in that time, the Lilywhites have only been able to lift one trophy on the pitch.

Just months after Levy hosted Singaporean billionaire Forrest Li at the club, Pitt-Brooke had the following to say on the club’s stance on potentially being sold:

“There is a lot of interest in Tottenham, whether from people who want to perhaps buy a stake in Tottenham or buy the whole thing. If they want to buy the whole thing, the valuation is £3bn, which shows what an amazing job, in that sense, Daniel Levy has done ever since.

“I think it’s likelier that they will get a bite at that level, or if not for the whole thing at £3bn, then maybe for a stake that would effectively value the whole thing at £3bn. There is a lot of interest there. There have been a lot of discussions over the years.”

Now 21 years into their reign at the club, it is hard to see where the potential buyers would come from if they were looking to sell the club in one go.

Pitt-Brooke claims the club have a current valuation believed to be in the region of £3bn, which would presumably reduce the list of potential bidders significantly considering Newcastle United were up for sale at around a tenth of that price.

However, when you look at the difference in investments on transfers over the last five years, it could suggest ENIC have hit their limits in terms of how far they can take the club.
