Tottenham Hotspur reporter for, Alasdair Gold, has been speaking on his latest YouTube video and has revealed Spurs have been scouting potential transfer targets over the weekend.

According to Gold, director of football Fabio Paratici is thought to have been keeping an eye on defender Djed Spence and midfielder Brennan Johnson.

Gold claimed Paratici was expected to attend Nottingham Forest’s game against Leicester City in the FA Cup to watch as a result.

The Lilywhites were linked with a potential swoop for Spence over the January window, despite the 21-year-old being out on loan from Middlesbrough.

Spence started in the FA Cup clash against the Foxes, which saw Forest win in style as Spence helped himself to a goal in the emphatic 4-1 victory.

Johnson had been linked with a potential switch to Leeds United over January after an impressive 2021/22 campaign to date. The 20-year-old also helped himself to a goal against the Premier League outfit on Sunday.

With Spurs not adding an attacking midfielder or right wing-back to Conte’s squad in January, speaking towards the end of the weekend, Gold had the following update to provide on two potential targets for the summer:

“Just a little aside, I understand, as I’m filming this, I think Forest-Leicester is about to kick off in the FA Cup in a little moment. I understand, I’ve heard from a couple of people, that Paratici is expected to be at the match, or was planning certainly to be at the match.

“And I believe he’s having a closer look at Djed Spence, the right wing-back who Spurs had a bit of an interest in for a while. And also young Brennan Johnson, the young attacking midfielder who’s done very well. He’s 20, he’s Welsh, has done very well this season. So just keeping an eye on both of those as well, and making his own mind up on them.”

TIF Thoughts on Djed Spence to Spurs…

If reports are to be believed, it is apparent Antonio Conte will be hoping Paratici and Daniel Levy can provide him with a new right wing-back in the summer, with the Italian not impressed with his current options.

Spence has looked impressive this season, having featured regularly in the Championship for Forest with a goal and two assists to his name this term, along with a dominant display against Arsenal in the FA Cup.

Right wing-back is a position in which Conte has become synonymous with over his years in management, so we believe he will have a big say in who he wants to see come in over the summer.

But with links also to Brighton & Hove Albion’s Tariq Lamptey, it will be interesting to see who Spurs make a move for, with Conte believed to be wanting a new option in that area.
