Reliable Tottenham Hotspur journalist Alasdair Gold has been speaking on the Last Word on Spurs YouTube channel to discuss the club’s January window.

Spurs ended the window with two new faces coming through the doors at Hotspur Way, with Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur making the move from Juventus.

Do you think Kulusevski will be a good signing?

Yes

Yes

The arrival of Kulusevski has Fabio Paratici delighted, according to Gold, with the former Juventus sporting director the man who brought the Swede to Turin in 2020.

Gold’s claim comes following the club’s failed attempts to sign Adama Traore and Luis Diaz last month, who both play in a similar position to their new 21-year-old winger.

Kulusevski has now been granted his work permit, so is able to join up with his new teammates, and Gold had the following to say ahead of his potential Spurs debut at the weekend:

“I think he’s always been on the list, I think Paratici loves him, really does. He obviously signed him for Juventus in the first place. I keep getting told that he’s a massive fan of him.

“It’s an interesting one because there’s a part of me that thinks they probably would have tried to sign him as well as Diaz, because he’s a loan. So it probably wouldn’t have impacted the money side of things too much.”

TIF Thoughts on Kulusevski to Spurs…

The good thing about this deal for the Swedish international is that it is not a permanent deal, as Spurs have him on an initial 18-month loan with the option to buy, meaning there is plenty of time to assess the 21-year-old and see how he fits into his new life in England and the Premier League before Tottenham make their judgement.

The reason we question this move is that Kulusevski is not a winger who has been in hugely impressive form with Juventus, whilst Lucas Moura and Steven Bergwijn have shown signs of potential under Antonio Conte.
