Dan Kilpatrick has been speaking on Talking Tottenham about the areas Antonio Conte and Spurs will look to improve in the summer.

It was not a brilliant January transfer window for Tottenham Hotspur and Conte, with the club shipping out ‘four important players’ according to the Italian manager, while only managing to bring in two new recruits in the form of Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur.

Will Spurs make the top four?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

Over January, it was reported that Spurs were very much after Adama Traore from Wolves, however, he ended up not joining the club and left Conte without the new right wing-back he was clearly pursuing.

Kilpatrick has highlighted the two key areas that Conte and Spurs are very much targeting this summer.

He said: “I would certainly expect a new centre-half, at least one, I think that’s definitely top of the wishlist, along with a right wing-back.”

TIF Thoughts on Spurs’ areas to improve…

Conte recently claimed in an interview with Bein Sports how his ambition is for Spurs to win the league and that he will not settle for finishing in the top four, so improvements over the summer are clearly a necessity if they are to get back into Europe’s top competition.

As it stands, Conte is seemingly preferring a back three consisting of Eric Dier, Ben Davies and Cristian Romero when they are all fit and available, and with one of them previously being a midfielder and another a left-back, that doesn’t seem like an elite defensive unit ready to break into the top four, so recruitments are obviously needed.
