Lyall Thomas has slammed a bunch of Tottenham Hotspur players for their attitude and desire during the first goal they conceded on Sunday.

Tottenham fell to their third league defeat in a row and their fifth in their last eight matches across all competitions, and this one was particularly damning as it was against a fellow side chasing a European spot in Wolves.

Will Spurs make the top four?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

Spurs fell behind early on through Raul Jimenez’s strike, but the way some Spurs players reacted during the events leading up to the goal appears to be very lazy and not good enough for a Premier League club, as six players stood on the edge of the box while three defenders attempted to stop six Wolves players in the box from scoring, which they failed to do.

Thomas was far from happy with this goal, taking to Twitter to share why he thought it was so bad from Spurs, saying: ‘This has just been brought to my attention asking “can this be real?” I’m afraid it is. Bentancur, Moura, Winks, Kane, Davies, Sessegnon watching, waiting for (the ball to go in?) after the initial free-kick. Nothing to do with coaching this. It’s about attitude and desire.’

TIF Thoughts on Spurs…

Tottenham found themselves 2-0 down at home to Wolves after just 18 minutes, which ultimately saw Antonio Conte show his ruthless side by hooking off Ryan Sessegnon after just 28 minutes for Dejan Kulusevski, although that failed to change anything.

This compiled a very disastrous week for Spurs, who also threw away a 2-1 lead at home to Southampton last midweek and have seen their chances of finishing inside the top four get a lot slimmer now, which should not be surprising if the above picture is anything to go by in terms of their defending and dedication to doing everything for the side.
