Presenter and Leeds United fan Joe Wainman took to Twitter following the Whites’ latest defeat to openly praise Adam Forshaw for his performance.

Leeds went toe-to-toe with Manchester United as they put in a fine display for their fans despite eventually losing 4-2, having clawed it back to 2-2 just after half time.

Should Leeds replace Bielsa?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

There was just one change that Marcelo Bielsa made for the match, which saw Raphinha replaced by Forshaw, and it proved to be an inspired tactical tweak, as the 30-year old bossed the midfield with the most tackles and pressures, while he finished the game with the best pass completion percentage (as per FBRef).

Therefore, it’s no surprise that Wainman labelled Forshaw as ‘a man possessed’ during the second half when you see the sort of numbers he put up in a game his side lost and shipped four goals.

TIF Thoughts on Adam Forshaw…

It’s a very nice story surrounding Forshaw and his comeback is probably the best thing to come out of Leeds’ very poor season, with the midfielder having spent more than two years on the sidelines due to injuries and has started 11 games in the league since his return, earning himself a new contract in the process.

With his midfield partner Kalvin Phillips edging closer to a return, Leeds should have enough to avoid relegation this season if Forshaw continues to put in that level of performance he did yesterday while being deployed alongside an England international and such a crucial player in Phillips, as they offer a solid base moving forward.
