Phil Hay has dropped a huge injury boost for Leeds United when it comes to Adam Forshaw.

The Leeds midfielder limped off injured during their victory against West Ham United, which saw him miss out on their last league match, but he could be in line for a return to action in their upcoming game next week.

Who would be a better fit for Leeds?

Forshaw!

This would come as a timely boost and one which is very much needed for Marcelo Bielsa and Leeds fans given that first-team regular Kalvin Phillips is still not ready for action ahead of their clash against Aston Villa on Wednesday.

Although, Phillips being pictured back in training is certainly a welcome sight for Leeds fans.

Hay, who was speaking on The Phil Hay Show, also dropped a huge update on Forshaw’s recovery.

“Forshaw took part in murderball last weekend and was hoping to train fully this week so he, I think, should be okay.

“I interviewed him before this winter break and he said Newcastle was just going to be a little bit too soon, but he didn’t see any problem being back for Villa, so that’s a definite bonus.”

TIF Thoughts on Adam Forshaw…

The midfielder is playing off the back of a massive injury which saw him spend just under two years on the sidelines and has clearly impressed, as he’s earned a new contract at Leeds as his previous deal was set to run out in the summer.

Forshaw’s emergence as a viable option for Marcelo Bielsa in the Premier League may well have been a big factor behind them not going all-out to try and sign Brenden Aaronson last month, thus saving the club upwards of £20 million.
