Leeds United had a dull January transfer window this season, only making a signing for the youth side in Mateo Joseph Fernandez. Marcelo Bielsa didn’t get anyone new through the door to help with the first team.

The Whites are after right back Djed Spence though, with transfer insider Dean Jones claiming he’d fit ‘perfectly’ for Bielsa’s side should he make the switch to Elland Road.

Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal are also apparently interested in the youngster so it shows how highly rated he is at just 21 years of age.

Vice-Captain at risk?

Luke Ayling has had a disrupted season so far, missing large chunks through injury. He has only managed to play 13 Premier League games this season for Leeds and that has to be a worry. He’s missed 11 games in total with his knee injury.

In comparison, Spence has been available for Nottingham Forest every game so far, only missing a handful through not being selected.

The man with 207 games under his belt at Elland Road could see himself eased out by Spence.

Who was sent off in his first game as captain?

Staurt Dallas to worry?

Dallas has played every game for Leeds in the league this season in a range of positions, but one of the main positions is right back. Should Spence come in then he would likely be third choice and so would have to cement other positions.

He has played on the left hand side of the back line when Ayling has been fit, so maybe it will just be a case of strengthening the side rather than anyone losing out from this signing?

Either way it looks like it would be good business for Leeds. He is still very young and has solid experience under his belt for his age, playing 29 first team games this season.

He is also versatile and can play on the right of the midfield too so would offer Bielsa with plenty of different options. Dallas, who has 255 games for the club may be looking over his shoulder this summer at the 6 foot Spence’s potential arrival.
