Tottenham Hotspur suffered a huge setback in their hunt for the top four midweek, losing 3-2 to Southampton leaving them in seventh place and four points from West Ham who occupy that coveted fourth place currently.
The good news for Spurs is they have games in hand to jump all those above them, apart from they’d need a big swing in goal difference to leapfrog North London rivals Arsenal. It’s a vital period coming up for Antonio Conte’s side, but he has been without Eric Dier for four from the last five games with a thigh injury.

Dier has played 90 minutes in all 19 Premier League appearances this season bar the Crystal Palace game where he lasted 12 minutes before injury forced him off. Luckily back then, he was able to play next time out.
Antonio Conte has suggested that Man City next week could be Dier’s return and he has confirmed he won’t feature against Wolves later today.

That could be sensible given the magnitude of opposition. He was heavily strapped up for the game against Chelsea which was in between the four games he has missed so he may be able to play through the pain barrier a little to help his side against the defending champions.
