Leeds United presenter Joe Wainman has been left buzzing on Twitter following a recent post from the Yorkshire club’s official account.

On Wednesday, the Whites revealed young defender Charlie Cresswell had returned to training with the first-team squad ahead of their return to action.

Will Cresswell become a starter at Leeds?

And Wainman took to Twitter to share his delight at the centre-back’s return to training by quoting the club’s tweet: “It gets even better”.

Leeds posted the image on Twitter just minutes after they shared another image of Kalvin Phillips and Liam Cooper also returning to action at Thorp Arch.

The Leeds defender has been out of action since December after the 19-year-old dislocated his shoulder in a training session.

Cresswell has made a handful of appearances for Marcelo Bielsa’s side this season in the Premier League amid their struggles throughout the campaign due to injuries.

The majority of the centre-back’s Premier League minutes came in the 2-1 defeat at home to West Ham United, with his other three appearances coming as late cameos off the bench (via Transfermarkt).

Seeing a number of players return to Bielsa’s squad comes just at the right time, hence Wainman’s happiness at the news, with the Whites looking to avoid the drop back to the Championship after some of the teams around them strengthened in the January window.
