Leeds United are monitoring Nottingham Forest star man Brennan Johnson, with Premier League clubs sniffing around the 20-year-old ace.

The versatile forward has been exciting the fans of the Championship club this season, scoring seven and assisting five in his 29 league games this campaign.

The £900k-rated star has played all across the front three positions this season, including some games as a ten too. If he was to make the switch to the Premier League outfit, he would provide real versatility – something that is vital with congested fixtures.

Marcelo Bielsa’s new Raphinha?

There’s no doubting how important Raphinha is to the Leeds side. He has a 42% involvement in all of their Premier League goals this season – in his 19 games he has eight goals and two assists.

Johnson offers a similar option to Bielsa as the Brazilian, having averaged an impressive 1.2 key passes and 1.2 dribbles per game, as well as being fouled 1.4 times a match too.

Compare this to Raphinha, he averages 2.1 key passes a game, 2.4 dribbles and is fouled 1.3 times a game.

While he still isn’t quite at the level of Raphinha, he is clearly on his way at just 20 years of age and could be one for the future for Leeds.

Both seem to love taking players on but also crucially have the end product to match too.

Does this mark the end for Crysencio Summerville?

Summerville is currently at Leeds and was close to an exit in the January transfer window, although that never materialised.

His main position is on the right wing, as is Johnson’s. Does that mark the end for Summerville at Elland Road? If they were to go out and buy someone the same age as him, in the same position, it’s hard to see a future at the club for the Dutchman.

As previously mentioned, Johnson can play in a whole host of positions, however, his arrival would surely push Summerville down Bielsa’s pecking order and force him to find another club to get regular first team football. He only has 118 minutes of Premier League action this season despite the injury crises at Leeds and virus outbreaks.
