Leeds United reporter Beren Cross has slammed Raphinha for his poor display on Wednesday night as the Whites fell to another heavy defeat.

Marcelo Bielsa’s men saw their gap to the relegation places narrow following their emphatic defeat on Merseyside, with Liverpool running out as 6-0 victors.

And it was apparent the Brazilian winger did not impress during the game at Anfield, where he played the full 90 minutes despite the West Yorkshire side being three goals behind after just 30 minutes.

Cross awarded the 25-year-old with a 3/10 rating for his display at Anfield having failed to impress, which has been a recent occurrence for the winger over the last couple of weeks.

“Continues to look a shadow of himself. Teammates asked questions as he let Andy Robertson run away from him in the run-up to Dallas’s handball.

“A lack of discipline in straying offside for his disallowed goal and then a petulant kick out at Robertson in a later phase of play,” wrote Cross in his post-game player ratings.

And it certainly was a night to forget for Raphinha, who was only able to complete 55% (11/20) of his passes as well as lose the ball 14 times in the game (via SofaScore).

TIF Thoughts on Raphinha’s form…

Not many Leeds fans may have expected much from the game against Liverpool, who have had their hopes of the Premier League title ignited over the last week.

However, the Whites supporters surely will have expected more from their star man, who has been in impressive form for the large majority of the 2021/22 campaign.

In the absence of Patrick Bamford, Raphinha has impressed, however, he was unable to continue from where he left off against Manchester United at the weekend.

With the relegation spots now just three points adrift, a huge game against Tottenham Hotspur awaits the Whites this weekend and we’re sure the fans will be hoping to see an improved Raphinha.
