Wolves midfielder Joao Moutinho has offered up some high praise when it comes to one of his teammates after the game this weekend.

Having moved to the club in the summer of 2020, Portuguese defender Nelson Semedo has established himself as one of the key men for the Old Gold, racking up 55 appearances already, with 54 of them starts as he has nailed down the right wing-back spot at Molineux.

His latest performance came in their 3-1 victory over Southampton, a victory that places Wolves 8th in the Premier League table, just one point off 7th and a potential spot in European football for next season.

In what position did Wolves finish in these seasons? Starting off with 2020/21

Taking to his Instagram account after the game, Semedo posted a picture of the players ahead of kick-off alongside the caption: ‘This team. Wonderful win at Molineux’, along with a couple of fire emojis – perhaps playing off the pyrotechnics that were going off in the background.

Moutinho responded to his comments by simply offering up the word ‘Beast’ along with a fire emoji and a flexing muscle emoji:

Should Wolves sell Semedo this summer?

‘Beast’ would certainly be one way to describe Semedo’s performance at the weekend, as the Portuguese defender made two tackles, two clearances and two interceptions (via WhoScored), playing a crucial role at the back to keep the Saints’ attack at bay.

Let’s hope that there are a few more performances like that between now and the end of the season to help Wolves move up the table and grab that European spot.
