Sky Sports journalist Michael Bridge has hinted that Tottenham Hotspur managing director Fabio Paratici’s relationship with Paulo Dybala could play a key role in a possible transfer.

In recent times, the Juventus forward has been linked with a possible move to north London. Italian outlet Tuttosport has claimed that he could be on the move this summer with his contract running out in July.

When asked whether or not Antonio Conte could persuade Dybala to make the switch from Turin, Bridge suggested to This is Futbol that Paratici’s relationship with the attacker – established when the two were at Juventus in the past – could also play a big role in any move.

He explained: “Well, I mean, also we’ve got Paratici, who was at Juve for that time. So I mean, I don’t know if Dybala got on with Paratici.”

TIF Thoughts on Paulo Dybala, Fabio Paratici and Tottenham…

With the January transfer market well and truly open, Spurs boss Antonio Conte has already made hints that he would like the club to sign an attacking player of high quality.

As reported in the Express, he recently said: “Two players in every role. For sure, as a coach it’s very difficult to decide to keep Harry [Kane] on the bench, but at the same time, when you play the way we played in the last period – six games in 17 days – every coach has to have the possibility to make rotations and don’t drop so much the level.”

Will Paulo Dybala end up at Spurs?

No

With multiple trophies to his name and over 100 goals for Juventus, Dybala would certainly seem to fit the bill on that front.

Paratici was, of course, working for the Italian club when the talented forward was also there, and if the two have a positive relationship, it could make a possible deal much easier. At the same time, if they did not get on well, any negotiations could be rather complicated.

In the past, the director was involved in bringing Cristian Romero’s loan from Juventus to Atalanta, and was then pivotal in bringing the same player to Tottenham last summer.

With that in mind, it’s ready to see how prior relationships could impact Spurs’ transfer plans.
