Tony Scott has been speaking on the All Together Now podcast about which former Premier League boss wants the Everton job.

Following a disastrous run of form which yielded just one win in their last 13 Premier League matches, Rafael Benitez was finally relieved of his duties on Sunday, just a day after the Toffees’ latest defeat at the hands of Norwich City.

Is Lampard the right manager for Everton?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

There have already been several names linked with the vacant job at Goodison Park including Roberto Martinez and Wayne Rooney.

Another name apparently interested in the vacancy is former Chelsea boss Frank Lampard, who is currently out of a job following his sacking at Stamford Bridge back at the beginning of 2021.

Speaking on Sunday prior to further reports of the ex-England midfielder’s links to the role, Scott revealed that Lampard’s representatives had contacted Everton about the job.

He said: “Believe it or not, I’m hearing that Frank Lampard’s agent has been in touch with Everton as well.”

TIF Thoughts on Everton’s next manager…

Farhad Moshiri has tried several different routes when it comes to appointing new managers, having gone with a young boss in the form of Marco Silva, an experienced Premier League one with Ronald Koeman, before more recently opting for household names in Carlo Ancelotti and Benitez, with none of them working out.

If Moshiri decides that appointing Lampard is the right decision, it could be a huge risk given that when the former Blues boss was handed a transfer budget at Stamford Bridge and splashed out lavishly, his side ultimately failed to produce good enough results, and if Everton are still wanting to spend heavily as they have done over the years, Lampard may not be their man.
