Newcastle United’s pursuit of Aaron Ramsey has just received a huge boost thanks to an update from Fabrizio Romano.

It has been claimed that the Welsh midfielder is set to leave Italian giants Juventus, with Massimiliano Allegri claiming that he is not with the squad as he about to leave the club.

Should Newcastle sign Aaron Ramsey?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

Romano doesn’t mention clubs by name, but he did claim it is likely to be a Premier League return. We already know he has been a target for Newcastle United this month.

NUFC360 on Twitter relayed the news to supporters, with them desperate to see him added to the setup at St James’ Park.

What the Newcastle fans said

“We should be snapping their hands off! #nufc.” @James_D89

“Literally take anybody at this point with the absolute state of this midfield. Lingard, Alli, Ramsey, owt will do cause this lot are a waste of space.” @MandysMags

“Please, please, please!” @sorensenmik

“Surely that’s the ‘surprise’ signing then?” @jsmoqe

“Bring in Ramsey and either Dele or Lingard and those are some good signings. Just need to find some CB help x2!” @lowmang5

“Why take him then when he could have been helping weeks ago if he’d really wanted to be here?” @AnthonyHatton20

“Would be a great signing!” @KerrWatson_

While he would be bringing plenty of experience given his spells at Arsenal and Juventus, he would also be bringing huge problems potentially for Eddie Howe.

Can you name who scored the most league goals for Newcastle United in years gone by? Let's see if you can starting with 2020/21

He has only played five games this season in all competitions for the Italian side, equating to a mere 112 minutes played in those fixtures as he has been missing with injury problems.

Should he join Newcastle, they would need his reliability to improve, but also wait for him to get up to match sharpness given the lack of playing time this campaign.
