A lot of Newcastle United fans have flocked to Twitter to voice their thoughts on the latest claim to emerge from their Premier League clash on the weekend.
The Toon fell to an emphatic 4-0 defeat on Sunday at St. James’ Park, however, they were left feeling aggrieved by Martin Atkinson’s decision not to award Ryan Fraser a penalty.
Should Martin Atkinson be disciplined for his display?
Yes
No
Fraser was brought down in the box by Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson despite not having the ball at his feet, yet it was deemed not to be worthy of a spot-kick.
And in response to the decision from the 50-year-old official and VAR, Craig Pawson, Newcastle are reportedly set to submit an official complaint against the officiating on display which saw fans flock to share their thoughts.
What did these fans have to say?
“This is great and it absolutely should happen, every club should do so. But what will it actually achieve?”
The complaint expected from the Toon is believed to not only be in response to the officiating in their game against the league leaders but to their previous three games.
In all three of their previous three games, the Magpies have tasted heavy defeats leaving them deep in the relegation battle and going by the response of these fans it seems the officiating has certainly played its part.
