Hammers insider ExWHUemployee has revealed that West Ham United are interested in Hull City attacker Keane Lewis-Potter.

With the January transfer market less than a month away, the Hammers may well look to make some moves this winter as they hope to maintain their impressive form.

While discussing possible targets on The West Ham Way podcast, ExWHUemployee explained that the 20-year-old is someone the club have looked at in the past.

He also claimed that Hull fans consider him to be of a similar ilk to Jarrod Bowen – who West Ham acquired from the Championship club back in January 2020.

He said: “Another player in the Championship that West Ham have looked at previously and could look at in January – there’s two of them – there’s a forward for Hull called Keane Lewis-Potter.

“I don’t think his goals record has been as good this season and he’s quite a short forward – I think he’s about 5ft 7, 5ft 8.

“But the Hull fans talk of him in the same breath as they do Jarrod Bowen. He’s got the same work ethic, he’s got the same potential. He’s the sort of player that shows similarities to what Bowen did. And if that’s the case, he might be worth a more serious look at.”

He later went on to mention Joe Worrall of Nottingham Forest as another player from the Championship who could be of interest to the Hammers.

TIF Thoughts on Keane Lewis-Potter and West Ham…

It’s easy to see why Bowen and Lewis-Potter may share some comparisons. Both men were at Hull, play on the wing, and have a great ability to contribute directly to goals.

Indeed, during 131 appearances with his former club, the current West Ham man netted on 54 occasions and added a further 15 assists.

Lewis-Potter has a similarly impressive record for the Tigers – though he hasn’t quite reached Bowen’s level of consistency, with 22 goals and 12 assists in 94 appearances.

Bowen’s form since arriving in east London has been good enough to see him linked with a move to Liverpool. If he was to depart, at least West Ham already seem to have their eye on an ideal candidate to replace him.
