A large number of Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter to share their delight at the latest claim to emerge on the future of Steven Bergwijn.
According to Mike Verweij (via Voetbal Primeur), Bergwijn and his management have made it abundantly clear to Ajax that he would be open to a move to the Amsterdammers.

This claim comes amid the speculation that already surrounds the Dutch winger which has linked him with a potential switch to the Eredivisie side in January.
And as he struggled to work his way into Antonio Conte’s Spurs side, it seems these fans would not object to seeing the 24-year-old depart in the upcoming window.

It’s no real surprise that these fans are far from upset by the claim to emerge when you look at the Dutchman’s lack of end product since arriving in north London.
Having signed almost two years ago, Bergwijn has only found the back of the net four times and three of those goals came in his first six Premier League appearances (via Transfermarkt).
His return for Spurs is a stark contrast to the 31 goals and 41 assists he produced for PSV Eindhoven, so perhaps this could be the best option for Bergwijn – to return to the Eredivisie.
