Newcastle Untied are finally starting to get their season well and truly underway: new manager, new start, new hope. Their first league win of the season against Burnley has helped them on that process.
It’s clear to see the relationship between manager and supporters had become incredibly sour by the end of Steve Bruce’s time on Tyneside, and it’s something Eddie Howe knows and is trying to improve.
He’ll be well aware that the supporters need to be united behind him and his team and his comments and actions are certainly doing that.
Talking to Sky Sports, Howe accepted that the fans don’t know him and he needs to prove his worth and commitment to them and the club, much to the delight of supporters.

Evidently he has already got the fans on side and united them. His comments in the media are really positive and the fans are loving it. If he can channel that positivity into the players and onto the pitch, retaining Premier League status is definitely on!
The positives don’t end there for the Toon Army who can climb out of the relegation zone this weekend with the right result, although it’s likely a win still leaves them in on goal difference.
