Aston Villa striker Keinan Davis has claimed that Emi Buendia has a bit of a ‘bite’ about him which he displays on the training ground.

Over the summer, the Villans splashed out a reported £33m to bring the Argentine to the club after he had impressed in the Championship with Norwich City.

Although Buendia may not have yet found his best form on the pitch for his new side, he certainly seems to be making an impression on his teammates.

Indeed, while speaking as a guest on The Beautiful Game Podcast, Davis was asked about the playmaker and described what he was like in training.

The Villa forward replied: “He’s technically good as well, but he’s got – like most South Americans have got – that little bite. Obviously, you can tell he’s sharp, just one step ahead. So yeah, he’s a proper, proper player.”

TIF thoughts on Emi Buendia and Aston Villa…

As mentioned before, Buendia has struggled somewhat to adapt to life at a different English club back in the Premier League. Last season with Norwich, he scored 15 goals and provided 17 assists in the Championship.

Will Emi Buendia come good for Villa?

No

No

Up to this point in the season, however, he has just one goal and two assists in the claret and blue of Aston Villa. Still, Steven Gerrard is the new manager in charge of the club now, and his impact has been immediate.

Indeed, the Villans have won three of his first four games in charge, losing only to Manchester City. Not only that, but Buendia also provided one of the assists in the 2-1 win over Leicester City.

So, if he is a little aggressive on the training pitch, perhaps his new manager won’t mind seeing that and the best is yet to come.
