Charlton Athletic fans have been reacting to footage that has emerged of Craig MacGillivray from their game in League One on Tuesday night.
Johnnie Jackson’s men were held to a 1-1 draw at home with high-flying Rotherham United, managing to grab an equaliser late in the game thanks to Conor Washington’s goal, with that point leaving them one point off the relegation zone.
However, things could have been a lot worse for them were it not for the efforts of the 28-year-old between the posts. With the score at 1-0 to Rotherham United just past the hour mark, he managed to pull off a quite remarkable save from Freddie Ladapo’s header, stretching out an arm and turning the ball away from near point-blank range.
His save was posted on the club’s Twitter account for fans to react to, and there were plenty of them on hand to share their amazement at the stop:
“An incredible save, deserves extra crispy roast potatoes on Sunday for that, even an extra Yorkshire pudding!”
Will Charlton avoid relegation this season?
Yes
No
Given where Charlton are in the table, he might need to pull off a few more of those in the games to come if the Addicks are to make their way up the league and steer clear of danger.
