A selection of Celtic fans have vented their anger online after hearing what manager Ange Postecoglou had to say after the club’s most recent fixture.
Last time out in the Scottish Premier League, the Bhoys were held to a frustrating 0-0 home draw against Livingston. The poor showing was summed up in the dying embers of the game when striker Giorgos Giakoumakis failed to score his late penalty, costing his team their best shot of claiming all three points.
After the match, Postecoglou spoke to the press, stating that he felt his side ‘created enough chances to win the game’ despite it being a ‘frustrating’ performance.
Are you happy with the job Ange Postecoglou is doing?
Yes
No
The club’s official Twitter account shared some footage of the interview, and it doesn’t seem as though the club’s supporters quite share his point of view.
Here’s what these Celtic fans said…
“What are these chances he’s talking about? We didn’t create anything. Why is he resting Kyogo when we’ve got a break coming up. Why did he change the penalty taker? This is a very big chance missed. They bottled it. Pure and simple. No fighters in this team.”
According to the BBC’s match report, Postecoglou’s men only registered two shots on target in the whole game. With one being from that late missed penalty, it’s clear to see why these supporters are so unhappy.
Unfortunately for the Bhoys, this game could go down as a big missed opportunity in the wider context of the season. With Celtic failing to win the home match, the gap between them and Rangers in first place has now widened to four points.
