Speaking on the Last Word On Spurs’ YouTube channel, transfer insider Fabrizio Romano has been discussing the latest news at Tottenham Hotspur.

The Italian was speaking after the arrival of fellow countryman Antonio Conte to the north London club earlier this week, who recorded his first win on Thursday night against Vitesse.

Naturally, transfer talk has already begun following the appointment of the 52-year-old, however, Romano has also been speaking about potential departures in the upcoming January window.

One of the players who has had his future speculated about over the course of the summer was Tanguy Ndombele, who had reportedly informed the club of his desire to leave.

Speaking about the future of the Frenchman with the north London club, Romano had the following to say on what he had heard in terms of potential departures.

“Conte wanted Ndombele at Inter, so maybe now with Antonio’s situation [it] will change, but in general, I was asking about this topic a few days ago and the answer I received from my sources was, ‘let Antonio work now’.

“Because, you know, Conte is a specialist also in changing the mind of some players that maybe were not playing or were not the best ones.

“So Conte is doing this, many times he’s done this and so, he wants to see his team, he wants to see how they work, how is the training ground, the feeling with these players. So I think it will take two or three or four weeks before saying, ‘okay, this player will be out in January and this player is part of my project’.”

TIF Thoughts on Conte’s squad…

The January window is just under two months away now and it should give Conte just about enough time to assess the squad he has adopted at Spurs to make his decisions on who could be put up for sale.

Some of the other names who are currently at the centre of speculation are Harry Winks and Dele Alli, with the former making a brief appearance in Thursday night’s Europa Conference League – unlike Dele.

However, Conte will have Ndombele, Winks and Dele training at Hotspur Way throughout the international break, so it will be interesting to see how their future pans out under the Italian.
