Lots of Tottenham Hotspur fans have flooded to Twitter to share their frustrations at the latest injury update to emerge on Cristian Romero.

According to club insider George Bannister, the Argentine could remain sidelined until January 2022 at the very earliest.

It is reported the 23-year-old’s injury is now thought to be worse than initially believed, with the centre-back set to undergo a scan on Thursday to reveal the extent of the damage.

Romero picked up the hamstring injury in the final game of the recent international period with Argentina against Brazil, which saw him replaced after 53 minutes.

Spurs fans flocked to the injury update as many vented their anger as they look set for a lengthy period without their £31.5m-rated defender.

What did these Spurs fans have to say about Romero’s injury update?

“I hate international breaks with every fibre and bone in my body”

“Just the news we were dreading I felt as soon as Conte said need another scan to reassess it just didn’t sound good. Fingers crossed he’s back up & running as soon as possible”
“This is such a shame”
“Just in time to screw us over again when the March internationals come round. Fuming”
“We are cursed with argentinians man”
“No way…. Cuti is destined to be world-class defender under conte system. Hope someone step up to show their capability”
“International Breaks canceled forever!”

The Argentine has had a tricky start to life at Spurs, with injuries and international travel restrictions really putting a dent into his game time for the Lilywhites (via Transfermarkt).

And it’s no surprise these fans are so frustrated given last season’s Serie A Defender of the Year has only been able to play 533 minutes of Premier League football for them across the opening 12 games.
