A whole host of Newcastle United fans were delighted on Twitter to see Craig Hope’s update on Eddie Howe.

Heading into the international break, the Magpies are still with Graeme Jones as their interim manager, with the former Luton boss having overseen three matches, in which he managed to pick up two points, both away from home.

Will Howe succeed at Newcastle?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

The latest result was a 1-1 draw against Brighton, who ended the game with 10 men and Lewis Dunk in goal, but a big positive for Newcastle was that Howe was pictured in the stands alongside Amanda Staveley, with the former Bournemouth manager set to be appointed as the club’s new boss sometime on Monday, as reported by Hope.

A lot of Newcastle fans on Twitter were delighted that Howe finally looks set be appointed as their manager.

It appears to be inevitable that Howe will succeed Steve Bruce on Tyneside, with Sky Sports’ Keith Downie reporting that he’s expected to arrive on Monday and that he’s just waiting on the contract being signed and sealed.

Howe will arrive with a full international break to prepare for his first match in charge, which will be against Brentford at home, but despite that being almost a fortnight away, Howe will be without Martin Dubravka, Jamal Lewis, Fabian Schar, Jeff Hendrick and Emil Krafth.

However, although three of them are yet to start a league game this season, it may not be a huge loss – and the fact that Ryan Fraser has pulled out of the Scotland squad could be a boost for the Magpies.
