A number of Leeds United fans have reacted to a post made on social media by Raphinha following the club’s recent Premier League win.
In their last outing, Marcelo Bielsa’s men managed an important 2-1 win over Norwich City. Spanish forward Rodrigo claimed the winner just minutes after Andrew Omobamidele had headed in the home side’s equaliser.
Opening the scoring on the day with a fine solo goal was Leeds’ Brazilian winger. After the game, however, Raphinha seemed to take umbrage with something that had once been said by Norwich goalkeeper Tim Krul.
The 24-year-old made a post online (via Graham Smyth) alluding to a quote shared in the past by the Daily Mail where Krul said of Leeds: “They are not Barcelona.”
Raphinha hit back, saying: “No, we are not Barcelona. We are Leeds United.”
Is Raphinha Leeds United's best player?
Yes
No
Here’s what these Leeds fans had to say…
“A statement of intent I think there. Raphinia and the boys know and when you know you know I am 100% behind the boys MOT.”
Krul’s original quotes were given all the way back in 2019 when the two met in the Championship. That game ended 3-1 in Norwich’s favour, but after winning their most recent clash, it seems the Brazilian has had the last laugh.
Not only did the meeting of the sides give Raphinha the chance to exact his revenge, but it also allowed Leeds to push themselves further away from Krul and co, who sit glued firmly to the bottom of the relegation zone.
