Sheffield United fans have been reacting to news about the club and their fixtures during the winter period.
The Blades have made something of a shaky start to the campaign, currently sitting in 17th place in the division with just five wins to their name after 15 games of the season. But as manager Slavisa Jokanovic’s time in the Championship with Fulham showed, it’s the second half of the season where things pick up, as he took them from 17th to play-off final success during his second full season there.
However, the second half of the season is set to take on a slightly different outlook to what the club had initially planned, as it was announced today that there will be some changes to the club’s fixtures over the Christmas period.
Their game away to Fulham has been moved from the weekend of Saturday, 18th December to the following Monday, whilst their home clash with Middlesbrough on New Year’s Day has been changed to a lunchtime kick-off.
This is on top of their game with Queens Park Rangers previously being moved to a Monday night, and when the news of the changes was relayed to fans by the club’s social media account, there were plenty of fans up in arms:
“Can you not refuse to play on the Monday night and stick up for the fans.”
Will Sheffield United get promoted this season?
Yes
No
Just how much of a difference these tweaks will make to Sheffield United’s season, we’ll just have to wait and see – but if they can win those games, fans might just forget about when they happened.
