A number of Sheffield Wednesday fans have expressed their concerns after viewing an interview with Darren Moore.

The club’s manager was speaking to the media after his side had just claimed a narrow 2-1 victory over Mansfield Town in the Papa John’s Trophy.

Lewis Wing had initially put the Owls ahead, but Stephen Quinn managed to bring the scores level just minutes later. However, a late goal from Florian Kamberi was enough to seal the win.

Moore admitted it was a ‘difficult night’ and claimed the ‘swirling wind’ made it hard for either team to play good football, before concluding that he was ‘really pleased’ with the result nonetheless.

His interview was shared on the club’s official Twitter account, but it seems as if many supporters are not so happy with what their manager had to say.

What did these Sheffield Wednesday fans say?

“3rd from bottom in league two… they played their reserves. Only just won. Clearly not good enough.”

“He really does worry me.”
“Why do managers see a different game to everyone else? That was just as pitiful and pathetically poor performance as Saturday, let’s hope behind closed doors DM knows just how clueless awful and devoid of ideas we look, otherwise he’ll be collecting his P45 very soon.”
“That interview is about 20 seconds long really and just looped! Says the same things over and over.”
“I’ll have whatever he’s been on.”

It sounds like that these fans aren’t exactly convinced by what Moore had to say. Judging from their comments, they find him a bit repetitive and perhaps too content with the tight win over their lowly opposition.

Is Darren Moore the right man for Sheffield Wednesday?

Yes

Yes

No

No

Albeit only in the Papa John’s Trophy, the Owls certainly would have been expected to win this game with Mansfield Town only third-bottom in League Two. Wednesday, on the other hand, are a whole division higher, where they currently sit in 12th spot.
